After finishing the Etudes en France and Campus France process if needed, all the students need to:

• create an account on France visa website
• gather the required documents
• book their appointment at the visa center

⏳When to create my account on France Visa? 

To do ASAP but if you have Etudes en France process, you first need to do it to get your EEF number, requested here. Moreover, your need an address in France to be able to submit it online.

When to submit my form on France Visa and book an appointment at the visa center ? 

You must submit it before making an appointment with your visa center, and you must make an appointment at the visa center early because their schedules can sometimes be full months in advance.

If you’re late: if your course starts in less than a month and a half, check appointment availability. If there are appointments available in a few days, you can still wait to make your appointment at the visa center.

But if the next one is several weeks away, book your appointment (between 3 and 2 weeks before the start of your course). Submit your application to France Visa (as it’s mandatory to make an appointment) even if you don’t yet have an address in France, and resubmit your application later when you do (this won’t be a problem).

Also, in some countries (especially if you don’t have the Campus France step), you will receive the list of required documents after this application.

If you are early: do not submit this file more than 6 months before the start of your course and don’t book your visa appointment more than 3 months before arrival (check that date with your visa center).

What to know: 

– If you have an issue with this website you have to contact your visa center.

– Your EEF number is noted on your Etudes en France account, on the top right, (only for those who need to do that process). If not, leave that part blank as you don’t have an EEF number.

–  Some countries like the US ask you to upload your documents on the website of French VISA. It’s not mandatory but you should save time. Even if you do that, you still need to bring them to the visa center.

Commune mistakes when filling the form: 

• TOP 1 of the mistake : “Nationality at birth if different”: don’t write anything if you have not changed nationality.
• Tick “Ordinary passport” in “Type of travel document” and write your passport number in “Travel document number”.
• “Current job”: don’t select you are a student and don’t write the name of your future school in France, if you are not currently a student. If you are not a student or employee, select “unemployed”. If you are a student in your country, write the name of your current school.
• “Marital status”: Scroll down to see all the options. If you are single don’t select other. 
• “Planned date of arrival in French territory”: Write the date of arrival in France, and not the date of departure. You must arrive in France before the beginning of your class or before the deadline if you have received a “late arrival letter” from your school.
• EEF number: write the number you got on Etudes en France portal if you have this step 2 on the platform. If not, leave it blank.
• “Number of months of stay”: check your enrolment letter and if you have internship noted on it, after your class, add it to the duration of stay. 

Your accommodation: 

Only if you are hosted for free check the first box called “a person will accommodating me”, otherwise the 3rd one “my hotel or place of accommodation”

Write the exact address on your lease/ certificate of accommodation. If your zip code doesn’t starts by 75, you don’t live in Paris so don’t write that down.

Arrival date:

You can’t ask for your student visa to start :

for short stay: more than one or two days before the beginning and the end of your class.

for long stay: more than one or two weeks before the beginning and the end of your class.

If you make a mistake:

You must fill out a new form. No need to delete this form or your account. Print the good version of your form and add it to the required documents.

⏳When to start gathering my documents?

You need to start now. Don’t wait for the Campus France validation (if you have that step). If you plan ahead, the last document will probably be your proof of accommodation (if you opt for a lease) because you cannot, for the most part, obtain a lease too in advance.

❗What to know  

If you visa already has been rejected and you change intake for your 2nd trial, you need to re do the Etudes en France process (if you have it in your country).

If you wish to arrive more than two weeks before your course, you must come as a tourist. Some countries require a visa, others do not. Your visa application, France visa form, plane ticket, and health insurance must all have the same arrival date in France.

How to book your appointment?

In some countries, such as India or USA, Campus France sends you a link to book your appointment with the visa center after they validate your file.

In other countries, you will have a link on the France-visas website.

What to know ?

– Only applicants are admitted to the visa department, unless they are accompanied for reasons relating to age, health or impossibility to speak English or French.

– Minor applicants must be accompanied by one of their parent (father or mother) or their legal guardian to submit the application. 

– Price : 99€ or 50€ if your file has been processed by Campus France first (to pay in local currency)
