What is Campus France for?

Campus France is a French organization, that will help you with your VISA file and pre-validate it. The Campus France interview is often mandatory and it’s a distinct procedure from your appointment with the VISA center. Campus France is not in charge of your visa and cannot be held responsible for its issuance or refusal. The interview aims to assess the educational project of the candidate. A grade will be provided about the logic and seriousness you are regarding your study project. All other aspects of your file will be assessed by the visa section that will make the final decision of issuing (or not) the visa.
– If they don’t answer you, you can ask for help from your visa center, they are linked.
– If you are not from Europe but are applying in a European country, you don’t need to go through Campus France.
Step 1 – Register on Etude en France
You have to pay close attention to the information you provide during your registration, in particular the links relating to Campus France in your country. Indeed, you must take into consideration the country where you are! For example, if you live in Senegal, you must follow the “Campus France Senegal” link.
In the interface, you will have to go to the menu “I am accepted” (you will have the prior agreement of the school). Three stages await you:
1 – I am finalizing my procedure: you have to list the reasons why you wish to go to France to continue your studies. Thereafter, you will have to register your personal information. This step consists of adding your study projects, acceptances of diploma courses, language tests, competitions, etc. In the end, you must review and confirm your choices.
2- I create my application: you must make an appointment to check all of your original documents.
3- The Campus France area checks my application: when you submit your file, you will follow its progress and validation by the Campus France area.
⏳ When to create the account?
Do the request ASAP. You can apply online whenever you want but it will take you around one hour to make the request and 2 weeks to get an answer and then 2 more weeks to get the answer of your visa appointment.
– Etudes en France is linked to Campus France. Therefore, in case you have any questions, please contact them directly.
Important notice:
– Select “I’m accepted” and not “I’m applicant” if you already are enrolled in a French school
– If you don’t find your program in the catalog, write it by hand
Step 2 – Send your application and pay the fees
After having clicked on “I submit my file”, it will be visible and it will no longer be possible to modify it by yourself. Thus, your Campus France space will take care of checking its relevance and will notify you if any parts are missing in order to add them. After this, you will have to do an individual interview. In addition, application fees apply to each candidate. Fees relating to the management of your file are generally asked of you before taking the interview.
Step 3 – Have an educational interview with a Campus France advisor

Some countries don’t have interviews, and their file is just accepted on Etudes en France account, after they processed it, without talking to Campus France like USA. In some countries such as Turkey, you need to contact them to book your appointment (it will be mentioned on your Etudes en France account). An in others countries, they will contact you for the appointment.
If you have an interview, you are advised to prepare for it. Some classic questions may be asked, such as:
– Introduce yourself!
– What is your study plan?
– What is your career plan?
– Why did you choose France?
– Why did you choose Paris, more exactly?
– What do you know about this city and why this school?
– How do you plan to finance your studies?
This list of questions is non-exhaustive since the context may differ from one agent to another and from one file to another. While some will ask you questions about your route, others, on the contrary, will ask you about the climate! Our only advice is not to stress. In most cases, during this interview, the agents check your ability to maintain a conversation to ensure your level of language. Nothing rocket science!
If you want to prepare for the interview, you can find more advice here. We also listed the top questions you might get.
Finalize your Campus France application
After the interview with a Campus France agent and once it has been validated, you will receive a notification that will allow you to finalize the process. Thus, all candidates accepted in an establishment or an exchange program in France are able to download a certificate of admission “Etudes in France”. The letter is one of the document mandatory to complete your visa file. From there, you will no longer need to get in touch with Campus France, make way for a crucial objective: to obtain the student visa!

Bonjour.
Merci d’avance.
