The most touristic Parisian districts

Here is a list of the most touristic Parisian districts

The 1st district

If you want to improve your general culture, you must visit this arrondissement. Or at least you have to know where it is! Especially because that’s where the Louvre is. If you are interested in law, literature, architecture, or legislation, then you have the Académie Française, the Palais de Justice, the Conseil d’Etat, and the Pont-Neuf that are located there. And if you like jewelry, you will drool over the Place Vendôme shop windows. In short, it is a great District!

The 4th district

The best place to eat awesome falafels in narrow streets. It’s also the LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans) communities’ main spot. For romanticism, you can wander around l’Île Saint-Louis.

The 5th district

As a student, if you want to hang out in a student district, or make photocopies – wait, who still does that nowadays? – You’ll also find the Jardin des Plantes there.

The 6th district

If you want your money to vanish into thin air, just take a coffee at Saint Germain-des-Prés or Café de Flore!

The 8th district

The well-known Champs-Élysées… However, once you’ve walked up and down the avenue and seen the shop windows, there’s not much left to do there… Except for the Opéra that is worth the visit for its architecture. Music lovers can enter its premises.

The 16th district

In the chic area, you’ll find the Musée Marmottant Monet where the artist’s amateurs usually meet to admire the Nymphéas paintings and breathtaking sunset.

The 18th district

The two-face arrondissement: on one side designers’ shops and 10€ crispbread; on the other side a place that looks forsaken by bin-men. But Montmartre is nice, try to go there when it isn’t crowded with tourists.

The 19th district

If you’re in need of nature within the capital, the 19th arrondissement will relieve your pain: lovely houses with vast greenery surroundings, wooded parks, and the long Ourcq Canal – enough to make you feel like being in the countryside!

The party-goer districts:

The 10th district

Basically Party-land!

The 11th district

For students under 25 who just want 1 thing: to party!

The 9th

Located in the very heart of Paris, with elegant Haussmann-style buildings and a quite old-fashioned charm. You’d think you’re in a time bubble. You can go for an adventure in Gare Saint-Lazare and Gare du Nord though…

The 13th district

You can visit the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BNF), the Chinese district and its restaurants, and the ” countryside in Paris” district near Buttes au Cailles: go for a walk Rue du Moulins-des-Près and Square des peupliers. It’s so peaceful and full of little houses. Lucky residents!

Good to know!

Paris postal codes always start with 750. The last two numbers refer to the arrondissement. Ex: for the 1st arrondissement : 75001; for the 13th : 75013.
